Sick of Being Sick July 9, 2017

What up Fam.and Friends!
Happy late 4th of July! #'MERICA! miss America. Be glad ya'll live there.
Well i have been sick for.like 3 weeks. Lets just say i go to the ocean a lot. Which here means.i go to.the bathroom a lot (the ocean is the bathroom here hahhaha).
Well i didnt email.last week.due to me being super sick and not being able to.email.
Update on last week: we had a baptism Tekitaa, a 35 year old man. Solid convert! He has a big like elephant foot like the one.guy on the other.side of.heaven hahaha, its not that big but pretty big. Tekitaa had been studying with the elders for 6 months! Super happy to see him get baptized.
Last sunday i was super sick too but we found.out that my comp was.getting tranafered on tuesday so i knew i had to hang in there and ride my bike and.do church. Man that was hell. My stomach hurt so bad, i went to the ocean a lot. And by the end of the day we had done like a total of 4 hours of.biking and i got a fever ans was cold, it was terrible. So monday i stayed home sick with a priesthood holder and my comp went with a YSA to go.do all of.his.goodbyes. Then my comp came.back in the eveming on a car that he rented because both bikes broke.
Then tuesday morning he left on the plane and my new comp came. But my old comp forgot toleave the phone. So we were left with 2 broken bikes, no phone, and in debt to a guy for his car. You could say i wasbt too happy about it.
My new comp is Elder Otto from Idaho. He is not a farmer. His.family is very artsy, we have a very large potential. As my boy John Trendler said "Partly cloudy with 100% chance of greatness" hahahahahhaahhahah.
Well wednesday i sat down to work on the bikes because thats how we do our work. I took apart the bikes to find that the barings were completely destroyed on the front tire of one bike and.the back tire of the other. So i put the good parts all on 1 bike so we now.have one solid bike. The mission.should get us a second one soon, but as for.now i just am begging people to.let me use.their bikes. (one of.them.i would ride 10 minutes then have to.pump it up again it was terrible)
Well, i am now the Branch President or Unit President here on Maiana. Pretty cool. And fun fact its the first time im techbically given the title of senior comp hahaha.
So this past week we called 3 group leaders to run the church in their villages and also an elders quorom presidency and a.ward.mission leader. We are utilizing are MP holders. Then on Saturday we held a training for.them, so they could.learn how to lead church, prepare and bless the sacrament and bless the sick. Pretty cool how the work is going here.
This week is.going to be no work due to Kiribati independance day on the 12th. So you kbow that means a week long party, bad.for the work, but pretty cool to see culturally wise.
When i dropped my comp.off at the "airport" here there was an old gma in her 70s from australia. I sat down and talkes with her for like an hour. She is in charge of the Catholic stuff that goes on in Kiribati, like money and stuff. And she was so worried about me here on this outie hha she gave me some.medicine just in case. We talked a lot about religion and she was talking about how the mormon church has grown so much and she said "you guys are doing something right" hahaha also she kept commenting to her.friend about how hapy i was even though i lived in a stick hut here on this outer island. I just wanted to tell her "look at what ur saying, im happy because.this.church is true!" hhahaha but it was a very good concersation and i definetly think.she.could convert.
Anyway, love you all! Pray that i get healthy fast!
Im jealous of ya'lls vacations. But just remember i live on an island ;)
Much love,
Elder Tingey
