Rain in the Pacific July 30, 2017

What up Fam and Friends!
Well everyone please pray for my Gma Tingey, just broke.her hip.and is very sick now, and also my mother just broke.her back as well.

This week was kind of boring haha, nothing crazy happened.
Tuesday we saw some rain clouds were ccoming in and we had a lot.of work to get done that day so we tried to beat the rain on our bikes. Bad call. We got dumpped on. This pacific rain storm just pounded us and at first we tried to stay under some trees and then we realized we.were soaked so we just road are bikes to.the closest village. It was pretty fun and we took some funny videos and pics but basically all of our stuff was soaked. Books and everything. Once we got to the village we went to a little store that has a little opening and u just tell them what u want (thats how.the stores are). We hid from.the rain there, but the rain didnt stop for 3 more hours, like it just continued to dump rain. We were wet and then we just got super cold haha. When the rain finally stopped we rode back to.the house, changed into dry clothes and went back out and rode an hour to our dinner. The roads were all flooded and muddy. We had dinner and.then we started home, and ofcourse it started to pour rain again haha so we rode an hour home in the rain.
Its rainy season right now so its been raining a ton, especially at night. Its nice because we can then drink rain water rather than well water.
The other days were just classic missionary work. Missionary work is hard, especially when all of ur investigators need to keep the WoW or get married or.both haha.
Saturday we had a baptism. Another 11 year old boy named Nabaruru Kaiaoka. Good kid. My comp baptized him.and then i gave him the Holy Ghost on sunday.
Sunday- i dread sundays hahaha. They are the day that im most frustrated and overwhelmed on. Its been like.that my whole mission. I feel like.i have to drag people to church. Its frustrating. Last week we had 61 peoeple at church and this week we had 45. Big drop. But to be fair there was 7 parties on saturday night and it was raining on sunday (yes we rode an hour in the rain to do church for a bunch of people and they werent very grateful for it)
But the one success on sunday was that there was one church that we didnt even go.to.because they are so awesome and can do.there own church and have the priesthood to do it!
Love the work! But very frustrating at times.

I just barely hit 3 months here in Kiribati.and.here on Maiana! I called one of my buddies who came  to kiribati with me from Marshall islands and he.said that President is already talking about bringing us back to the  Marshall islands hahahha. I want to go back but i want to go back at the end of February. Thats the goal haha.

Love you all, stay safe. I pray for u all, please pray for me, but also pray for ways that you can help the missionaries in your own ward.
Dont forget the Lord, remember him when ur happy and when ur sad, in prosperity or trial.

Much love,
Elder Darin Tingey
