What
up Fam! and Friends! Happy Easter!!
Gotta love easter and how it is a time to remember our savior
Jesus Christ.
Yes the answer is i am still here in the Marshall Islands. We
got our visas though! we should head out this coming sunday! so my next email
should be from Kiribati!! Learning the language right now is hard, but i feel
like i am picking it up a lot quicker than i picked up Marshallese. But i will
forever need the Lords help.
Well this week was tiring. But thats how missionary work is
haha. We had to move to another Elder's house this week because they are
repairing my last house. So i get the wonderful opportunity to ride several
miles on my bike to where my area starts and then ride all day to where it ends
and back hahahahah. Gotta love my area. so skinny. Nate i laughed when you
asked why it was so skinny because its so skinny because the ocean is on both
sides hahah. you literally could go jump in the ocean on one side and jump out,
run for 15 seconds and jump in the other side hahahaa.
This week we did a service project at a new members house. The
service was taking down 4 insanely tall coconut trees. Im talking like 50 feet
tall. SO what we would do is a marshallese guy would take a rope in his hand
and then free climb the tree, just like an island boy would, and then get to
the top and tie the rope on. Then the bishop had a chainsaw hahha and would cut
while all of us pulled with the rope hahaha. it was so fun and cool. these guys
climb the coconut trees like its nothing and then just slide down haha. I took
some good videos that i will show you all in a year and a half lol. We also
made plates out of palm fronds and ate rice and fish and drank coconuts
(classic marshallese meal). We also caught a lot of crabs and ate those too. We
also killed two eels hahaha those things are scary.
Yesterday was Easter Sunday! An my last sunday here in the
Marshalls. Dang it was a Easter Miracle that we got a family of 4 to come to
church!!! The Lord shows us blessing from our hard work on the last sunday
hahah. Its ok the other Elders will baptize them. Then sunday night we taught a
couple baout the atonement and death and resurrection of Christ becasuse you
know Easter. and they were like "We haven't repented yet" hahah i
kind of laughed in my head and was just so happy on the outside and then we
taught repentance and the joy it brings! they are commited to come to church
next week! lukuun Jerammon! really blessed. Well love you all! I pray for you
all every day! pray for me in learning Kiribati please haha. next week will be
Kiribati!!!
much love!
